EAL

English as a second language

Students learning English as an additional language are often faced with challenging tasks, including the need to learn new cultural understandings and language skills. At 51³Ô¹ÏÍø we are committed to ensuring that our learning environment is inclusive and engaging.

Our EAL Teaching and Learning team works closely with the teachers of EAL students to provide an environment that is supportive of students’ learning and wellbeing and where the educational opportunities and outcomes for all students are maximised. These specialist services are provided by the College.

Students are:

  • Placed in pathways within the EAL continuum to ensure continuous support from their subject teachers
  • Supported in their English language competency within the mainstream English classroom
